Why Join?

People join monthly book clubs to save money and to learn more about books they will be interested in.

Discount book clubs save you money in a couple of different ways. First, they cut out the middleman (the bookstore), because you're buying directly from the publisher. So, the publishers can often offer discounted prices on books.

Second, monthly book clubs offer "joining packages" these offers often give you three or more books for free (or very inexpensively) when you sign up for membership. All you pay is shipping and handling.

Finally, some book clubs print books in different sizes from what you would find at the book store to save more money.

Most book clubs also send out a magazine or catalog to their members on a regular basis.

These catalogs contain book reviews, book lists, reading recommendations and author interviews. The information in these book magazines helps you choose books that you'll love.

What Types of Book Clubs are There?

There are a wide range of book clubs to meet every reading interest. From general interest book clubs that contain a wide variety to special-interest clubs specializing in everything from cooking, sci fi, mystery, romance, history, military and much more!

How Much Does it Cost?

Most book clubs don't cost anything. But, they do require you to buy a certain amount of books at regular club prices over a certain time period. So, you may have to buy two or three books over the course of a year.

If you typically buy books at the bookstore, you will typically pay about the same amount for these regular-priced books (once you add in shipping and handling) as you would expect to pay at a bookstore. Once you've filled your membership agreement the clubs will often send you more great offers (for example, buy one book get three 50% off) to keep you coming back!

Be sure to read your membership agreement before joining a discount book club so you'll know exactly what to expect.

How Do I Join?

Joining is easily. Simply pick the book club you're interested in from this list, click on the link to the club's website and choose your books!

Be sure to read the membership agreement before joining, and then enjoy reading your books and saving money!
